Newark Street Park K-9 Friends works in partnership with DC Department of Parks and Recreation to maintain Newark Street Dog Park as a clean, safe, and enjoyable place for dogs to play and people to visit.
Newark Street Park K-9 Friends was founded as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2009 to maintain and oversee the Newark Street Dog Park. DC Department of Parks and Recreation built and opened the Dog Park in Fall 2010 as part of the Newark Street Park complex at 39th and Newark Streets in Northwest Washington, DC.
As a partner with the City, Newark Street Park K-9 Friends is responsible for the daily operations of the Newark Street Dog Park. This includes relying on volunteers and ongoing fundraising for Dog Park maintenance, daily cleaning, repairs, and amenities. Newark Street Park K-9 Friends’ expenses average approximately $15,000 per year for the Dog Park. Help us minimize costs and maximize park enjoyment.
We welcome your support. Please respect the park rules and clean up after your dog while at the Dog Park. Your Newark Street Park K-9 Friends annual membership and additional donations cover our operating costs and repairs. The K-9 Friends greatly appreciate your volunteer time to help with opening/closing gates, special events, fundraising, and other activities.
Thank you and enjoy your visit.
