Newark Street Dog Park K9 Friends is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit organisation responsible for the upkeep of the Newark Street Dog Park. These efforts are coordinated with the help of our outstanding board members, some of which do not even have a dog! You may have even seen some of us around the neighborhood. If you have any questions for us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Kial currently works in the Higher Education field and comes to us from the Mid-West. As President he is responsible for the coordination of the board and the events we put on. He has one dog, Isabelle, who is a high energy Lab/Mini Aussie mix that never stops smiling. You can catch him at the park in the mornings, and in the evenings, trying to run off some of Isabelle’s puppy energy.
Nancy has been involved with the Newark Street Dog Park since its inception over 10 years ago and has also been involved with the McLean Gardens board for some time. While she does not currently have her own dog, Nancy walks many of the neighborhood pups.
Agi Kiss has lived on Van Ness St since 1997 after moving back to DC from five wonderful years in Kenya. She is an Ecologist working at the World Bank, working these days mainly in Europe and Central Asia, and has written three children’s books and a novel (an “eco-feminist thriller”)—details available at www.sunbirdpress.com. She volunteers as a reader with Learning Allies (formerly Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic) and with the Northwest Neighbors Village. Her “furry family” currently includes two dogs (Spencer and Kashi) and two cats (Tara and Mojo).
Former interim President
Jeanne is heavily involved with Friends of the Library and many of the events they have in the Tenly D.C. Public Library. She acted as the interim President after the founding President stepped down.
Sarah serves as our board secretary. When she’s not playing with her dog, Monkey, at the park she is working for her family’s company around the District. Sarah loves spending time at the shore soaking up the sun.
